The dragon changes into a beautiful flower ring. It is unbelievable without seeing the changing process.
The dragon is produced by Tomoo YAMAJI, a transforming toy creator.
The Japanese have loved such flexible figures from the 17th century. The flexible toys or figures were called “Jizai Okimono(Full-flexible ornament)”. They have a lots of joints, so the viewers can change the shape of the ornaments as they like.
The figures produced by Yamaji reminds us of Jizai Okimono.

From the traditional Japanese view of art, one thing shows different looks and values in some measures so the meaning or value of an art is built by the artist and the viewers. Jizai-Okimono represents the view of art.
You can see the works by Yamaji on the Henge website. Most of the figures are birds or flying machines.
